The 2027-256 delivers a maximum of 8 Line Modules, each with a maximum of 32, 1, 2, or 4Gbps fiber channel ports. The Model 256 is a 14U rack mount chassis.

- SANtegrity Authentication activation of the SANtegrity Security Center that manages all fabrics similar to SANtegrity Authentication for the Element Manager that manages a single product.
- 14U rack mount director chassis, supports up to four partitions per director, and dynamic movement of ports between partitions.
